July 23rd, 2009 Go Over Our Site As A UserWe require someone who is very detail oriented who can walk through our site with a fine tooth comb as a user and make notes about anything that is unclear or does not function properly. We expect you to go through ALL aspects of user functionality (once logged into the site) and all aspects of browsing the site. We require that this be broken down into report form, page by page. You can decide the easiest way to do/present this… as long as it is understandable.

For companies small and large it has become more important to be part of a collaborative approach to developing solutions for the education community. It’s not just about the hardware, or even the technology anymore. The approach is what I considered the right one years ago—figure out what you want to do, and then decide how you’re going to get there. So many districts are figuring out how to use Moodle (a free open source solution), and in many cases learning about it from teachers.

Just because you’re not building a blog, online store, or running a forum, doesn’t mean that you have to build your website from scratch. Yes we’ve seen Wordpress molded to build many different kinds of websites, but I recommended against anything too drastic. There are also many general purpose content management systems to aid you in building your website, but a number of niche content management systems have become available to help build a site for your wedding or a site for your band, and many other niches.
