I continue to have a high level of skepticism around the concept of universities investing in ePortfolios. I feel that it is another example of how people within universities tend to over-emphasize their importance in the scheme of things, extend the university role into areas it where it should never have been and subsequently waste resources and more importantly the time and energy of academic staff that would be better spent focusing on other aspects of improving learning and teaching.

Moodle is great by itself but it can be even better when using other web 2.0 tools and resources. I know I will leave out many resources in this quick post, so I plan to write a “part 2? of resources to use within Moodle. Voki.com Description: “Voki is a free service that allows you to create personalized speaking avatars and use them on your blog, profile, and in email messages.” This is a fun tool for teachers to grab the attention of students and allow the students to listen rather than just read.

July 25th, 2009 Family WebsiteI need an INEXPENSIVE website for my family. We would like to be able to share photos and videos, and be able to leave comments about photos and videos. I would like it to be easier to upload a video than it is on You Tube. To start, I will be the only one posting photos and videos, but I would like something that would allow me to give access to other “members” of the website to post videos and photos too if I want to later on.

The dates for NDP rehearsals in school are 31 Jul, 5 Aug and 6 Aug from 3 to 6 p.m. & 1 Aug from 7.30 to 10.30 a.m. Selected cadets will be issued a consent form. Contingent IC: Tifflin, flag bearer: Elizabeth, slow march: Karthi and Felicia. Cadets who are learning bowling will be allowed to leave school at 0945 on 1 Aug. Full-dress rehearsal is on 5 Aug. The parade is on 7 Aug. Attire on 5 and 7 Aug is no. 4 uniform and beret. Attire on 31 Jul and 6 Aug: CCA t-shirt and shorts.
